A referral partnership, and nothing else
Being straight with you about the stage this is at: the site is new, the traffic is small, and we have sent nobody any business yet. What exists is a page listing every charter operator on the island we could find, with capacity, rates and a phone number, and a growing number of people reading it. You are probably already on it. If the details are wrong, tell us and we’ll fix them.
It is late August as we write this, which is the wrong end of a season to be starting anything. So here is the honest version: get your details right now, while you can still remember what this summer actually cost, and be findable in March when people start planning next one. That is the whole ask.
Guests arrive knowing the 6-passenger rule
Every visitor who reaches the list has already been told the six-passenger cap is federal, that groups of seven need two boats, and that they should ring you rather than go through anyone.
They know the six-guest rule
Anyone who writes to us gets asked the date and the headcount before anything else. If we pass them on, those two things come with them.
You keep the whole fare
Guests pay you your price and we are not standing in the middle of it. We take nothing out of a booking and there is no affiliate deal running behind your back. If that ever changes it would start as a conversation with you, not appear one day in a footer.
Vineyard, and nothing else
The writing here is about this island only — which harbors, which weeks, which rules. That is a narrow audience, but it is the right one.
No exclusivity either
Keep your GetYourGuide page, your own booking system, whatever works. We are not asking for anything back, so there is nothing to be exclusive about.
If we do send someone
On the rare occasion we forward someone, you get the date, the number of people and what they asked for. Not a form dump.
On the list, with your number
Your name, harbor, boat, capacity, rate and phone number on the list, with a link straight to your own site. No profile page in between.

What we check
We check your license is current and that the capacity you gave us matches it. If something doesn’t line up we’ll ask rather than guess.
You go on the list
You go on the list with the others, in the same format, with your own number and your own site. No tier, no badge, no featured slot to buy.
Then, honestly, we wait
Maybe. We won’t promise volume we haven’t got. Mostly people will find your number and ring it, and you’ll never know it came from here.
What gets checked, and what doesn’t
Two of these we verify. The rest we take your word on, and we say so rather than implying an inspection we never did.
Verified. Current, and appropriate to the boat and service — OUPV six-pack, Master, whichever applies.
Your word. We ask that you carry commercial liability and hull cover; we do not audit policies.
Your word. We have not been aboard, and a listing here is not an inspection.
Verified, loosely — you leave from a harbor on or next to this island, not a boat that visits in July.
Nice to have. We read what is public. We have no review system of our own and we are not going to invent one.
Not a rule we can enforce, but the single most common complaint we hear about this island is an unanswered phone in August.
Questions operators ask us
Short answers.
Is there a cost to partner?
+No. Nothing to set up, nothing monthly, and we take nothing out of a booking. We are not going to say “never” — if a paid arrangement ever makes sense we would come and ask you about it. What we will not do is start taking a cut and mention it afterwards.
How does MV Boats make money then?
+Right now it doesn’t. The site earns nothing. The two plausible versions later are commission from booking platforms, which comes out of their margin rather than your fare, and possibly an arrangement with operators who want one. Neither exists today, and the second would be something you agreed to rather than something that arrived.
Do I have to be exclusive to MV Boats?
+No. List anywhere you like — your own site, GetYourGuide, a platform we have never heard of. We are not asking for anything back, so there is nothing to be exclusive about.
How do guest inquiries reach me?
+Mostly they don’t come through us at all — your number is on the list and people ring it. That is the intended outcome and we never hear about it. When somebody does write to us and you are the obvious fit, we forward one message: the date, the headcount, what they asked for, and how to reach them. Not a form dump.
How long does approval take?
+A few days, usually. We check that your license is current and that the capacity you gave us matches it, and we read whatever reviews are public. If something doesn’t line up we ask you rather than guess. We do not audit insurance policies and we have not been aboard — the list above says so plainly, because implying an inspection we never did would be the easiest lie on this page.
What if I'm a smaller operator (6-pack)?
+Then you are the norm here, not the exception. Almost every boat working off this island runs under a six-pack license, and the list is built for exactly that: capacity, rate, harbor, phone number, no tiers. We have no roster of partners to compare you against yet — that is what this page is for.
Can I leave the partnership later?
+Any time. Email us and the listing comes down the same day. There is nothing to cancel, because there was nothing to sign.
